Web Development Quotation Procedure: In order to provide an accurate quotation for your forthcoming project we need to gather a detailed project design brief from you that will outline which services are likely to be needed in order to complete the project, this includes information about how you would like your site to develop over time and any additional services you plan to offer your customers that may not be included or available at present. We are here to make the whole transition to the web a simple and stress free affair, all services relating to setting up, running and maintaining your website can be provided by us which leaves you free to get on with making money from your business. If you are confused by any part of the quotation procedure please do not hesitate to get in touch. Starting from the top: < Domain Name > Do you currently have your web site name (called your domain name and URL), if not do you know what you would like to call your website and have you checked its availability? We can register your domain names on your behalf with a fast domain registrar but finding the right name is very important to getting the right results. < Web Hosting > Have you already found a web host or would you like us to host the site on our private server? Most cheap web host providers allow hundreds of other websites to use their services, some are reliable but generally they can be very problematic for a business customer, our private server is limited to only MoltenPixel Clients and it is fast reliable and secure. If you have already sourced a web host please let us know as there can be additional premiums involved depending on the hardware and system on the actual server in order to run a successful site. In order to offer the right hosting package we will need to know how large the site will be, this can be ascertained during the quote procedure, all packages offered by us are scalable to suit your needs. < Graphics and Company Branding > Have you got existing company graphics that will need integrating into the design or are you looking for a complete service that will have us design your company logo/image from the top? We are also affiliated with a number of service providers that allow us to offer a complete printing range – business stationary, leaflets and generally any other print media can be provided. < Site Type > What are your goals for the site? Do you want to offer a basic holding page with company information that acts as an information only site, are your aspirations towards selling online (Ecommerce)? These days it is essential for a company to have a website, just like placing your advert in the yellow pages or phone book, having a professional website gives the right image about your products and services and can be the difference between success and failure. In order for us to tailor the quote we need to know the type of site you need and if it is to be ecommerce we need to know how many product categories, individual products/services, and if there are any additional information pages required such as contact pages. An easy way to help us with this section is to find 2 or 3 competitor sites and look at how they are laid out, what information they offer and any pages they have that you have not thought about. Later on there is a section for you to add this information. < Payment Processors > If you intend to sell on the web you will need to be able to access your money, the way you do this is by using any of a wide range of payment processors, possibly the most popular at the moment is PayPal who allow you to accept credit and debit card payments as well as direct payments from an individual's account balance. You can also choose to use an external processor such as Authorize.net or Worldpay, this usually involves a monthly payment to use the service but you pay less per transaction that with Paypal, whichever you choose can be integrated into your website, some more easily than others and as such this can be an important part of the quote. < Marketing > How do you intend to market your products and services? Most startup businesses overlook the power of the web and choose to concentrate on more conventional marketing methods, when you have a website built it is not automatically picked up by the search engines so without a solid marketing plan that incorporates search engine optimisation (SEO) your potential web customers will simply not know you exist. There are a number of methods available to you to get noticed on the web, from cost per click adverts to simple newsletter marketing. < Think Big > If you are a startup business you might fall into the trap of thinking as a small company in order to get set up as quickly and cheaply as possible, remember with your website first impressions really do count! Try and think of the bigger picture as you take on more products and offer more services, how will you expand your website and can it be done easily while keeping the same look and feel. We use a superb software to manage your website that is infinitely scalable, should you need to double your stock levels or add another payment processor this is easily done without harming your existing system. Using such a system involves a period of learning the software but has a gentle learning curve and no need to learn HTML or other web languages, while your site is being built we provide you with a test site to play around on as much as you like. < Updates and Upgrades > Once you have been set up for a while you may have additional products to add to your site, we do this for a low fee or you can do this yourself. Also due to the nature of the internet all software requires upgrading at some point to keep in check with security, this can be done by us or again by yourself depending on how technical you want to get with your website. Databases should be maintained regularly and backed up along with the main site, failure to do this can lead to loss of your site in case of an attack.
